Review | REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic

I found out about this product last year, when I got a trial size of the product at Sephora. And then, I went straight to the jumbo version! I am amazed by this toner because it has absolutely improved the way my skin looks. But, of course, it has its little things and that's why I wanted to share this review with you.

My experience

I love trial size products but not that often I end up buying them in the large size version. It has to completely amaze me to spend a lot of money in one particular product and this one really did. From the very first use I noticed my skin was actually better. It gave an almost instantly beautiful glow that made my skin look so much better that I could actually not put anything but skincare products to it and go out looking perfect.

It's described as a skin resurfacing and I can for sure say that it is. After I finished the trial size version I had no time to go to Sephora and buy stuff (I'm not a big fan of online shopping except for Amazon) so I only used what I had at home. After some weeks, I started noticing my skin wasn't the same... so that's when I made the decision and bought the jumbo size. And I'm so happy I did! Now that I use it almost in a daily basis, my skin looks amazing all the time.

Some people recommend to use it once a day or even every two or three days, but I apply it almost daily in the morning and at night after I've cleansed my skin and I feel the effect is absolutely possitive. Of course, since I know it has AHA acids, I always apply some SPF after my skincare routine.

This product has Willow Bark to encourage cell renewal, Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate and Azelaic Acid Precursor to brighten skin. These three ingredients help to stimulate the skin to naturally exfoliate, reduce pore size, even out the skin tone and get the perfect glow.

The 'bad side'

The only 'thing' about the product (and I think it's fault of the Lactic Acid) is that it leaves the skin somewhat sticky and this makes it a bit uncomfortable to apply other products after. But if you get past this, it's a really amazing product because of all the things I said before and because of the brand. REN is a cruelty free and clean skincare brand, which means their products are free of parabens, suphate detergents, mineral oils, silicons, synthetic colours or fragrances and a large list of etceteras.

Of course, this isn't a product for everybody. Even though it says it's for all skin types except those prone to sensitivity, I would recommend you to consult with your dermatologist before using it. In my case, I was using a cream with retinol to treat the constant breakouts that came out on my cheeks and when I told her about this product, the dermatologist told me that I could use it but not at the same time as the cream. So I stopped using the cream, tried the toner and finally stick to it because I felt it had more effect.

So... all in all, I highly recommend this product. It's not that expensive, it lasts a lot and shows results from the very first use.
