What I pack in my carry-on for any kind of trip and season

It doesn't matter, when, where or for what, my carry-on packing routine is nearly always the same and is proof-of everything.

This backpack from Victoria's Secret comes with me to almost every trip. It's cute, it's comfortable and it has enough space to bring with me everything that I need.

Since traveling often take a couple of hours, I make sure my carry-on luggage has everything I need to stay comfortable (and be entertained too!). Whether you take a 1-hour commuter flight or take a transatlantic flight, don't miss my carry-on packing essentials for a smooth, comfortable and not-so-boring flight!

No matter where I'm traveling to, I usually use a strolling carry-on suitcase because, let's face it, it's easier (and less heavier) to carry, and also a small and cute backpack. If you're looking for a suitcase, I highly recommend you to look for those with a hard shell because they will always keep the shape and help us not to overpack.

And the backpack... I know a lot of you prefer to take a tote but the good thing about a backpack is that they're also easy to carry and a good choice if your trip includes lots of hours outside. To give you an example, in my last trips to Japan, Atlanta and Yosemite, I used a Victoria's Secret backpack and it was a really good choice because I was out walking all day and I could take everything that I needed with me without hurting my back and neck.

And the real question... what do I pack?

Beauty Products:

Mostly when I'm traveling by plane, my skin suffers a lot so I choose not to use make-up until I'm about to arrive to the destination. The airplane air lacks of moisture so the skin gets really dry and lifeless. That's why packing my creams and make-up is really important. Always bring travel-size toiletries and make-up because you can't take with you liquid/creamy products of more than 100 ml. Stores like Sephora or even pharmacies like Wallgreens and CVS have a lot of products specially travel-sized. And yes, this also includes deodorant, eyedrops, toothbrush, etc. Put them together in a transparent plastic bag (it can be a special bag for this stuff or a Ziploc) and place it in your suitcase.

Talking about moisturizers, the most important ones are:

Sunscreen (for when you arrive);

Primer (to help closing the pores);

(I linked the ones I love)

Medicines:

It's also important to have medicines on hand during the trip. What kind of medicines? Ibuprofen, Pain Relief Pills, Allergy Pills, Contraceptives and, of course, the medicines prescribed by your doctor. In this last case, don't forget to bring the prescription signed by your doctor.

Special Documents:

Of course, when you travel you need to have in handy your Passport, Visa or Entrace Permit if needed, ID, Travel Insurance, and the address of your short-term residence. Also, money, credit cards and any other documents that may be required by the authorities or the travel agency. I put all of this in your backpack.

Entertaiment:

Specially when you have to take a long trip, it can get really boring —believe me, 13 hours in a plane to get to Japan was experience enough to know about this! Lol— so a good idea is to bring stuff that will make it less tedious. Think of the stuff you choose when you have spare time: a book, a console like the Nintendo Switch or the PSP, a notebook or iPad, a coloring or notes book... and other accessories like headphones, keyboards, chargers, pencils/pens/markers, etc. Another good idea is to download music, series and movies to the offline mode so you can enjoy them during the trip.

Travel Comforts:

We're going to be seated a lot of time in a not-so-comfy space, so we have to make it as comfortable as possible. I never travel without a Travel-Pillow and an Eye-Mask. If noises bother you, you can also bring Ear-Plugs. Also, if your feet or legs swell during long trips or flights, don't forget to bring a pair of compression stockings. Usually Airlines offer a blanket and a normal pillow, but you can bring your own.

Here again, the famous Victoria's Secret backpack. Can you believe I found it half price? The best finding!

Extra Clothes:

I always pack some clothes in my carry-on suitcase, despite the reasons. Sometimes is because the place where I'm traveling to has a different temperature than the one where I'm departing. But mostly is because you never know if the Airline is going to miss your Luggage. I usually pack clothes for two days, like a pair of jeans, two or three blouses, a pijama, a coat, intimates, socks... stuff like that!

Snacks:

Technically, food is not allowed in the planes... unless you buy it at the Airport. I think is always a good idea to buy some stuff in case we get hungry during the trip. And yes, I only refer to food because Airlines usually provide water bottles and drinks during the trip. Gums, chips, chocolates... whatever you want! It's your choice.

Cleanse:

It's not new news that airplanes are blanketed in bacteria, so it's always a good idea to bring your own Hand Sanitizer and Facial Cleansing AND Hygiene Wipes. Also, another product I'm loving lately is the dry-shampoo. Trust me, your hair will look beautiful no matter what thank to this. If you're traveling for too many hours, you'll also want to bring your own panty liners.
